The PGA Series from Rain Bird offers versatility and affordability for residential and light commercial irrigation applications. Featuring a plastic globe/angle valve design, the PGA Series provides a range of options to ensure optimal sprinkler performance.

One of the key features of the PGA Series is the accommodating field-installed PRSD pressure regulating module. This module helps regulate water pressure up to 100 psi (6.90 bar), ensuring that sprinklers perform at their best. The series also boasts purple flow control handles, making it easy to identify non-potable water systems.

Available in two models, the PEBNPHAN1 (1") and the PEBNPHAN2 (1 1/2" and 2"), the PGA Series is designed for versatility in design and installation. The valves feature a rugged PVC construction for reliable operation, and a normally closed, forward-flow design.

To prevent water hammer and subsequent system damage, the PGA Series incorporates a slow-closing mechanism. Additionally, the manual internal bleed allows the valve to be operated without allowing water into the valve box, enabling the pressure regulator to be adjusted without turning the valve on at the controller.

The one-piece solenoid design with a captured plunger and spring ensures easy servicing and prevents the loss of parts during field maintenance. The non-rising flow control handle allows for adjustments to the water flow as needed.

Rain Bird recommends that the flow rates in the supply line do not exceed 7.5 ft./sec. (2.3 m/s) to reduce the effects of water hammer. For flows below 5 GPM (1.14 m³/h; 0.32 l/s), Rain Bird suggests the use of upstream filtration to prevent debris from collecting below the diaphragm. For flows below 10 GPM (2.27 m³/h; 0.63 l/s), Rain Bird recommends turning the flow control stem down two full turns from the fully open position.
