The Economical Irrigation Valve is designed for residential and light commercial applications, featuring a double-filtered pilot-flow design for maximum reliability. This valve boasts a balanced-pressure diaphragm for long life, along with an external bleed to manually flush the system of dirt and debris during installation and system startup. Additionally, it incorporates an internal bleed for spray-free manual operation.

Powered by an energy-efficient, low-power encapsulated solenoid with a captured plunger and a 90-mesh (200 micron) solenoid filter, the valve utilizes a Buna-N diaphragm with a self-cleaning 90-mesh (200 micron) pilot water filter and a captive spring. This design allows the valve to operate in low-flow and Xeri-gation applications when the RBY filter is installed upstream.

For secure installation, the valve features 1.25" (3.2 cm) stainless steel Phillips head screws and a slip-by-slip configuration for use with poly pipe. The male-by-barb configuration also provides flexible installations, particularly when submains are deep.

The valve is compatible with latching solenoids, enabling its use with Rain Bird battery-operated controllers. Its operating range includes a pressure of 15 to 150 psi (1.03 to 10.34 bar) and a flow rate of 0.2 to 40 gpm (0.05 to 9.08 m/h; 0.76 to 151.4 l/m). The valve can withstand water temperatures up to 110 degrees F (43 degrees C) and ambient temperatures up to 125 degrees F (52 degrees C).

Electrically, the valve requires a 24VAC 50/60 Hz (cycles/sec.) solenoid, with an inrush current of 0.30 A (7.2 VA) at 60 Hz and a holding current of 0.19 A (4.6 VA) at 60 Hz. The coil resistance is 42-55 ohms.

Dimensionally, the valve measures 4 1/2" (11.4 cm) in height, 4 3/8" (11.1 cm) in length, and 3 1/3" (8.4 cm) in width. When installed at an angle, the height increases to 5 1/2" (14 cm), and the length decreases to 3 3/4" (9.5 cm). The length with a male-by-barb configuration is 5 3/4" (14.6 cm).
