Rain Bird 150-PGA 1 1/2 Irrigation Valve

The PGA Series offers versatility at an affordable price, featuring a plastic globe/angle valve for residential/light commercial irrigation applications. The valve accommodates a field-installed PRSD pressure regulating module to ensure optimum sprinkler performance, regulating up to 100 psi (6.90 bar). Purple flow control handles provide easy identification of non-potable water systems, with models PEBNPHAN1 (1") and PEBNPHAN2 (1 1/2" and 2") available. The valve accepts a latching solenoid for use with Rain Bird battery-operated controllers up to 150 psi (10.35 bar).

The PGA Series features a globe and angle configuration for flexibility in design and installation, with rugged PVC construction for reliable operation. The valve has a normally closed, forward flow design, with double-filtered pilot flow to resist debris and clogging of solenoid ports. It is slow-closing to prevent water hammer and subsequent system damage, and has a manual internal bleed that allows the valve to be operated without allowing water into the valve box. This enables the pressure regulator to be adjusted without turning the valve on at the controller. The one-piece solenoid design, with a captured plunger and spring, allows for easy servicing and prevents the loss of parts during field service.

The PGA Series has an operating range of 15 to 150 psi (1.04 to 10.35 bar), with the PRSD regulating up to 100 psi (6.90 bar). The flow range is 2 to 150 gpm (0.45 to 34.05 m/h; 7.8 to 568 l/m), or 5 to 150 GPM (1 to 34 m3/h; 0.32 to 9.44 l/s) with the PRSD option. The maximum operating temperature is 110 F (43 C), and the solenoid power requirement is 24 VAC 50/60 Hz, with an inrush current of 0.41 A (9.8 VA) and a holding current of 0.28 A (6.7 VA). The solenoid coil resistance is 24 Ohms, nominal.
