The ESP-ME3 with WiFi offers an upgraded experience compared to the existing ESPME controller. This conversion kit includes all the necessary components to upgrade your ESPME, including a new, larger ribbon cable and backplane assembly. The panel alone cannot be plugged into your existing ribbon cable due to a different pin configuration, necessitating the new cable and backplane.

Upgrading the backplane is a straightforward process, requiring the removal and replacement of only 4 screws. The station wiring does not even need to be removed from the modules; simply unlock and slide them downwards. This kit saves a substantial amount of effort compared to replacing the entire controller, electrical components, and station wiring.

When the ESP-ME3 is installed with Rain Bird's optional LNK WiFi module, users can manage their irrigation system through Rain Bird's free mobile app. However, the ESP-ME3 offers new app features not available with any of the company's other residential and light commercial controllers.
